Biden’s Advice to Avoid Air Travel Borders on ‘Fearmongering,’ Airline Says

Fox News Thursday, April 30, 2009 Vice President Joe Biden, discussing the spread of swine flu, said Thursday morning that he would advise against traveling in an airplane or in any confined space — a comment that an airline spokesman said borders on “fearmongering.” “To suggest that people not fly at this stage of things is a broad brush stroke bordering on fearmongering,” American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith said. “The facts of the situation at this stage anyway certainly don’t support that.” Roughly 250,000 passengers use American Airlines daily, and not a single one of them has tested positive for swine flu, Smith said. Biden, a longtime Amtrak rider who commuted daily between Delaware and Washington for decades, said on NBC’s “Today” show Thursday morning that he wouldn’t necessarily advise family members not to travel to Mexico, but “I would tell members of my family, and I have, I wouldn’t go anywhere in confined places right now

Truth Action Ottawa Thursday, April 30, 2009 The historic and extremely successful April 28th screenings of Unrepentant: Kevin Annett and Canada’s Genocide and Endgame: Blueprint for Global Enslavement were marred by a masked anti-Alex Jones vandal who spray painted on the sidewalk outside the Mayfair Theatre’s main entrance and assaulted a theatre staff member when confronted. A man wearing a sweatshirt and a bandana over his face was spotted by a manager at the theatre (who wished to remain anonymous)  spray-painting on the sidewalk outside the theatre about an hour before the start of the screenings.  The manager ran up to the man and kicked the spray paint can out of his hands, leaving the man only enough time to spray paint the words “Alex Jones.”  The man was upset at being interrupted, and when the theatre owner asked the man what he was doing, the man became violent, shoving the manager violently and yelling at him that “Alex Jones is a racist! You shouldn’t be showing this film!”  The man in the bandana then ran away. The confrontation was witnessed by a member of Truth Action Ottawa (who also wished to remain anonymous), and the man in the bandana was pursued by him.  The TAO member saw the man arrive at his car, remove his bandana and sweatshirt, and hastily place them in his trunk.  Thinking the man was a misguided truther, the member of TAO approached him to ask why he had vandalized the sidewalk since the theatre was being generous enough to screen the two controversial films.  The man became extremely agitated and yelled at the member of TAO, threatening him and shoving him.  He then got into his car and sped off

Questions remain over company chosen to develop swine flu vaccine Steve Watson Infowars.net Thursday, April 30, 2009 A scandal dating from January 2008, that is continuing to unfold, raises more disturbing questions over the safety of U.S. pharmaceutical company Baxter International’s vaccines. Last year Baxter recalled almost all of its injections of the blood thinning heparin drug in the US after some patients experienced extreme – and in some cases fatal – allergic reactions, after being administered the products

Karen Kaplan and Alan Zarembo LA Times Thursday, April 30, 2009 As the World Health Organization raised its infectious disease alert level Wednesday and health officials confirmed the first death linked to swine flu inside U.S. borders, scientists studying the virus are coming to the consensus that this hybrid strain of influenza — at least in its current form — isn’t shaping up to be as fatal as the strains that caused some previous pandemics. In fact, the current outbreak of the H1N1 virus, which emerged in San Diego and southern Mexico late last month, may not even do as much damage as the run-of-the-mill flu outbreaks that occur each winter without much fanfare.
