Detroit family homes sell for just $10
London Telegraph March 12, 2010 Family homes in Detroit are selling for as little as $10 (£6) in the wake of America’s financial meltdown. The once thriving industrial city has suffered a dramatic decline following the global economic crisis. According to Tim Prophit, a real estate agent, the crisis has led to a unprecedented portfolio of homes, but they are failing to sell.

BBC March 8, 2010 Almost four in five people around the world believe that access to the internet is a fundamental right, a poll for the BBC World Service suggests. The survey – of more than 27,000 adults across 26 countries – found strong support for net access on both sides of the digital divide. Countries such as Finland and Estonia have already ruled that access is a human right for their citizens

BBC March 8, 2010 A strong earthquake has struck eastern Turkey, killing at least 57 people, officials have said. The 6.0-magnitude quake, centred on the village of Basyurt in Elazig province, struck at 0432 (0232 GMT). It has been followed by more than 40 aftershocks.
