Fresh protest under way in Tehran

BBC News Wednesday, June 17, 2009 Tens of thousands of people have again taken to the streets in Iran’s capital Tehran in protest at election results. It follows a call by presidential challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi for further peaceful demonstrations. An even larger protest is expected on Thursday, which Mr Mousavi says should be a day of mourning for the eight people killed after Monday’s protest

Remixx World Wednesday, June 17, 2009 I was listening to the Jason Bermas “The Infowarrior” show tonight and one of his callers had an interesting comment about a code in the controversial multi-part London Telegraph “Operation Blackjack” art series . The Blackjack series is controversial, because it has no real artistic merit except for perhaps being a blueprint for the introduction of global government.

Breitbart Wednesday, June 17, 2009 Senior Chinese leaders have privately voiced fear over the soaring US budget deficit and are increasingly looking to diversify from the dollar, a Republican congressman said. “We heard across the board — in private — substantial, continuing and rising concern,” Representative Mark Kirk said after a trip to China that included talks with government officials and central bank chief Zhou Xiaochuan.

Dollar drops on reserve currency doubts

AFP Wednesday, June 17, 2009 The dollar fell against the euro and yen on Wednesday after major emerging economies cast doubt on its long-term future as the world’s main reserve currency, dealers said. In late morning trading in London, the European single currency climbed to 1.3867 dollars from 1.3838 dollars in New York late on Tuesday. Against the Japanese currency, the dollar slipped to 96.30 yen from 96.42 yen on Tuesday.
