James Delingpole London Telegraph March 11, 2010 What marvellous news to learn that the UN secretary general Ban Ki Moon is to launch a thorough investigation into the science behind climate change! It’s the equivalent of Kenneth Lay promising to organise a full and frank investigation into the accounts at Enron, or Herod ordering an urgent inquiry into the appalling and mysterious slaughter of infants in Judaea: all it will do is end up confirming the prejudices of the person who commissioned the report. And as Ban Ki Moon himself says, keeping a studiedly neutral position on the issue: “I have seen no credible evidence that challenges the main conclusions of that [Fourth IPCC Assessment] report

Joe Fay The Register March 11, 2010 The government expects to have issued 17 million ID cards by 2017, Home Secretary Alan Johnson told the Commons yesterday. Johnson was responding to a question from his Tory shadow, Chris Grayling, who asked: “What proportion of the estimated 49 million products to be issued between April 2012 and March 2017 … will be identity cards?” Johnson replied: “Approximately 49 million products will be issued over the period April 2012 to March 2017 of which we expect approximately 32 million passports and 17 million identity cards.” These wouldn’t necessarily all be different IDs, so to speak, with some accounted for by replacements of lost or stolen cards and passports. William Astore and Tom Engelhardt Campaign For Liberty Friday, February 19, 2010 Remember the 100 hours of combat that made up the first Gulf War, the mere weeks it took for Kabul to fall in the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan, or the “shock and awe” wave of air attacks that led off the 2003 invasion of Iraq, followed by the 20-day blitzkrieg-like campaign that left American troops occupying Baghdad? Those were the days when, as retired lieutenant colonel and TomDispatch regular William Astore reminds us, the civilians in the Bush Pentagon thought they were the masters of lightning war.

Another Newsweek “Conspiracy Theory” Claim Debunked

Former Mexican foreign minister calls for North American Union, Amero currency Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet.com Wednesday, February 17, 2010 Another of Newsweek’s ridiculous “conspiracy theory” claims has been debunked after a prominent former Mexican foreign office minister called for a North American Union and a single unified currency, adding to the voluminous reams of evidence that confirm an EU-style integration is being developed for the Americas, a notion Newsweek dismissed as “discredited” in their feeble “Know Your Conspiracies” hit piece. As we detailed on Monday , Newsweek bosses gave intern David A. Graham the job of debunking the most prevalent “conspiracy theories” circulating today, but the result was a feeble, embarrassing and self-defeating example of lazy journalism that served to make Newsweek look like the real conspiracy theorists, since the majority of issues they denied are manifestly provable and openly admitted, such as the march towards global governance.

Beck attacked Medina for questioning 9/11, but revelation that Perry ally Palin called for new investigation shakes up Governor race Aaron Dykes & Alex Jones Infowars.com February 17, 2010 Days after Debra Medina’s rising bid for Texas Governor was stung by controversy over comments about 9/11 on the Glenn Beck Show , it has emerged that former Vice Presidential candidate and “Tea Party’ darling Sarah Palin has done her one better– stating her support for a new 9/11 investigation just before the 2008 election, and going far beyond Medina’s mild statement. Yet, it isn’t the audacity to admit there are remaining questions about 9/11 when scientific polls have found that 84% of Americans do not believe the official story and at least six of the 9/11 commissioners think their own report is flawed, or worse. Instead, it is the hypocrisy of Glenn Beck and the media cretins who followed his lead in dismissing and defaming Medina outright for not immediately belittling 9/11 truthers while ignoring similar statements by GOP darling Sarah Palin
