With the Lakers obtaining Pau Gasol for basically nothing (Kwame and Crittenton). What do you think of the chances of a Lakers vs. Celtics finals rivalry going on for the next few years. I get the feeling we’re gonna start to see alot of old Magic and Bird highlight reels come playoff time.

  8. Looks like your predictions might come true. Fortunately for Los Angeles, they got Pau Gasol. Why Jerry West (former Laker) did that, is beyond my knowledge. Once Andrew Bynum comes back, LA is headed for the Finals. They have to be. Just think back when Bynum was playing and the Lakers were scary good. Now they got Gasol, an unselfish big man who can score and rebound. On the other hand, who says Boston is headed for the Finals? When Boston acquired Allen and Garnett, I said: there is no way in hell that either Garnett, Allen, or Pierce plays 82 games apiece. Someone is gonna get injured. Boston cant even beat the best teams in the East. Orlando has beaten them twice, and Washington has beaten them twice. And Detroit has beaten them once. Cleveland even beat them. I still think Detroit is the best team in the East. Much experience. Much talent. Much teamwork. Although a acquiring a good post player would extremely benefit them, the Eastern Conference Title is Detroit’s to lose.
